KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Crux KC has officially opened applications for its annual Crux for a Cause program, granting $50,000 of pro-bono marketing services to a deserving nonprofit organizations in Kansas City.
For six years, Crux for A Cause (CFAC) has supported a wide range of nonprofit organizations to develop coordinated marketing campaigns, enhance their online presence, and expand their reach. Previous program winners include, KC Shepherd’s Center, Kanbe’s Markets, What if Puppets, WeCode KC and CAPA Cares. In 2025, Crux helped The Prospect KC more effectively convey its identity and message to the community and the increasingly competitive donor market.
“Crux has held downtown Kansas City and its purpose-driven nonprofits close to our hearts since we first opened our doors in 2016,” said Melea McRae, Founder & CEO of Crux. “By fueling the marketing machine, we are helping these organizations make a meaningful difference in the community. Crux For a Cause isn’t just a way for us to give back; it is a way for us to support impactful organizations and create lasting change that strengthens our shared community.”
All nonprofits based in Kansas City or with significant operations in the area are eligible to apply, though Crux prioritizes organizations that align with its mission of community impact and collaboration. Crux offers a full range of marketing services, including branding, digital strategy, content creation, and more. The 2026 CFAC recipient will receive a customized marketing plan designed to meet its specific needs.
Crux’s work with nonprofit client partners has earned awards including Nonprofit Connect Philly Awards for KC Shepherd’s Center, KC Common Good, Linda Hall Library, and Young Friends of the Kansas City Public Library, as well as Public Relations Society of America PRISM awards for KC Common Good and The Pinnacle Prize. In 2022, Nonprofit Connect honored Crux with its prestigious Community Champion award for its outstanding work with multiple organizations.
